# Read a market: prices, odds and payouts

Understanding one screen unlocks every market on Predict.\
What you're looking at:

* Yes price / No price: what one share costs. Prices always sum to $1.
* Probability: the Yes price, read as a percentage. It moves in real time with the order flow.
* Payout: every winning share redeems for exactly $1 at resolution. Buy Yes at $0.30, be right, collect $1: that's a 3.3x.
* Resolution date: when the market settles. Some markets can resolve early if the outcome becomes certain.
* Volume: how much has traded. Higher volume means tighter spreads and easier exits.

{% hint style="info" %}
You don't have to hold until resolution. Prices move constantly, and you can sell your shares at any time to lock in a profit or cut a loss.
{% endhint %}
